This fall the 6Storage team attended thirteen trade shows, traveling all over the country from Las Vegas to North Carolina and so many fun places in between. At every trade show they learned new things and made new connections.

The 6Storage team finds that there are benefits to attending both small and large trade shows. At the large trade shows, they get a glimpse at new technology and where the self storage industry is headed. It is wonderful to have the opportunity to network with vendors and storage facility owners from all over the country, and in some cases, all over the world.

At the smaller shows the team gets the chance to have meaningful one-on-one conversations with storage owners, and they learn the ins and outs of the storage industry in each state. While each trade show is different, each one is beneficial. They recommend that you attend as many as possible if you’re in the self storage industry!

Michelle, Jessika, and Alyssa all had the opportunity to speak on panels and/or lead roundtable sessions at various tradeshows this fall. Jessika was able to speak to Illinois attendees about the benefits of technology in self-storage, and Alyssa was able to do the same in Michigan. Michelle led a roundtable on rate increases while in Tennessee and spoke in Wisconsin about operations. These speaking sessions allow the team to share their industry knowledge and serve as a great way to show that 6Storage is a thought-leader in the self storage industry.

Other fun moments that stand out are the facility tours they did in Arkansas, the detection dog they met in Tennessee, and playing in the charity poker tournament in Texas. While the tradeshows are a BLAST, the team’s ultimate goal is to meet people at these shows and improve their day-to-day operations with 6Storage’s software, website design, tenant protection, and more. There is nothing better than meeting someone in their home state, showing them what 6Storage can do for them, and getting them signed up and on their way to more efficient and profitable operations.

For current storage owners attending tradeshows is a great way to stay up-to-date on self storage industry news, new and upcoming technology, best practices for running facilities, and so much more. For prospective owners it’s a great way to get a feel for the self storage industry and all that goes into owning a facility. These tradeshows are a great resource for determining if you would like to open your own facility. For vendors like 6Storage, it’s an opportunity to show off the products we have to offer and how we can make the lives of storage owners easier and more profitable.

6Storage has a great team of sales executives who are eager to share 6Storage’s software with all those attendees that either don’t have software and are ready to automate their processes, or attendees who have current software that they are looking to upgrade

The 6Storage team is also already looking forward to their 2024 tradeshow schedule. Their first stop is the FSSA Conference and Expo in Orlando, Florida in February where they look forward to meeting both current and prospective self storage owners from Florida. Then in March they will be in National Harbor, Maryland for the Spring Self Storage Association Conference and Tradeshow.
